Transportation Information

To reserve a seat on a shuttle for all shuttles, please go to: https://wyomingcatholic.edu/fee-payment/.
Regarding deadlines, Salt Lake City Airport shuttle requests must be made two months in advance of the scheduled shuttle date.  For Riverton Airport shuttle requests, we need to receive the reservation request from the fee payment page at least a week in advance, and we can take a student to or from the airport on any day (except for Nov. 1st, Nov. 23rd, Dec. 8th, Dec. 18th through Jan. 3rd, and March 29th through 31st).

For Salt Lake City Airport shuttles, a spot costs $60.  For Riverton Airport shuttles, they are free if students are not missing any class days as a result of their traveling. If one is planning on missing any class days, the student should make arrangements with their professors and the Academic Dean in addition to scheduling a shuttle, which will cost $20, via the fee payment page.
All students’ Salt Lake City departure flights must take off after noon, and arrival flights must land by 4:00pm.  If an airline reschedules a flight and it no longer fits the aforementioned timeframe, please contact the Student Life staff immediately.  Given the size and proximity of the Riverton airport, Riverton Airport departure and arrival flights have no time restrictions if one wants to obtain a shuttle.
As much as we would like to offer shuttles to non-students, we do not offer shuttles to non-students; the only exception is the initial freshman shuttle.  The college also does not run shuttles to or from Denver, Casper, Jackson Hole, or any other airports.

For Riverton Shuttles, we can take a student to or from the airport on any day (excepting Nov. 1st, Nov. 23rd, Dec. 8th, Dec. 18th through Jan. 3rd, and March 29th through 31st) so long as we receive the reservation from the fee payment page at least a week in advance.

The closest and best airport option is Central Wyoming Regional Airport (RIW), about 40 minutes from campus.  This airport in Riverton, Wyoming is serviced from Denver International Airport (DIA) by United Airlines (www.united.com).  One-way tickets from Denver to Riverton usually cost between $80-$120.

The Casper-Natrona County International Airport (CPR), serviced by Delta and United, is 2.5 hours from campus.

Salt Lake City (4.5 hours away) and Denver (6 hours away) have major airports and provide lower fare options.

Shuttles to the Riverton airport are offered at the beginning and end as well as throughout the semester for current and prospective students.  Shuttles are offered to the Salt Lake City Airport at the beginning and end of each semester.  For more information, please see the “Shuttles” section above.

Lander is located in the central western part of Wyoming next to the Wind River Mountain Range.  The town stands about equidistant from three major cities in the Rocky Mountain West region: Salt Lake City (ca. 300 miles), Denver (ca. 360 miles), and Billings (ca. 290 miles).  It is near several major national parks: Yellowstone National Park Southern Entrance (ca. 150 miles) and Grand Teton National Park (ca. 100 miles).

Wyoming roads are scenic and traffic-free.  Since winter road conditions can affect travel, we recommend using Wyoming Department of Transportation’s Road Condition Website before travel (www.wyoroad.info).  The College monitors the road conditions surrounding school breaks and outdoor trips in order to give the students up-to-date information before they leave campus.

The school has a fleet of vehicles used for school purposes. There are shuttles that go between campus locations for distinguished lectures, intramural sports, off-site classes (such as horsemanship and field science), and other events.

Shuttles are driven by students or staff members who have been through the College’s driver training program and been cleared to be on the College’s insurance.

There are parking lots for students with personal cars to use at all Residence Halls, Immaculate Conception Oratory, the Augur Building, and Frassati Hall.  There is no cost for parking a vehicle on campus in our parking lots.  However, vehicles must be registered with the Registrar.
